img_4969Lisa Jane Nail Services knows you will absolutely LOVE your nails. With CND Shellac you can expect your nails to last flawlessly for up to 14 days and with Vinylux weekly polish up to 7 days, as long as you give them a little care and attention during that time. Minx can last between 2 and 7 days on fingers and up to 4 weeks on toes. CND Shellac is pretty indestructible with Normal Wear and Tear, which means you have to partner with us by adding a little protection to your nails if doing tough jobs like household cleaning and gardening, hobbies that are rough on your hands or using harsh chemical products without wearing gloves; doing these things without protection can affect your CND Shellac, Vinylux or Minx service. If you do happen to cause some damage to the nail coating or something you have done has caused a chip or lifted an edge of your CND Shellac or Minx manicure or pedicure, please DO NOT pick or pull at the area, as this will cause any damage to increase. Please ring me on 07921130946 so that I can assess the nail and decide if a repair is necessary. Please note that repairs will be chargeable.

Holidays and Swimming Pools
If you are on holiday please be careful when using sun tan oils or insect repellent solutions as many of these products contain solvent oils, which will cause major damage to the CND Shellac and Vinylux colour as well as to the Minx nail wraps. Some of the more delicate CND Shellac and Vinylux colours can fade somewhat if one is in chlorinated water followed by excessive sun (remember that chlorine is a bleach and sun intensifies the bleaching action). Dry your hands and nails after swimming and before sunbathing to minimise any colour fading.

Solar Oil

Solar Oil

Aftercare Products

Please use Solar Oil at least twice a day (especially at night before going to bed) to replace lost moisture to your skin and nails. Lisa Jane Nail Services recommends Solar Oil, which they retail and which is made to be used with CND Shellac & Vinylux. Also beneficial is the use of any CND hand and body lotion daily, which they also retail. Regularly using CND aftercare products will substantially prolong the life of your manicure and keep your natural nails and the skin surrounding them healthy, moisturised and flexible.

Changing the colour of your CND Shellac
If you wish to temporarily change the colour of your nails whilst wearing CND Shellac you can use nail polish over the top, ensuring an Acetone Free Remover is used.

CND Shellac Removal
Relative to your life-style and activity level, your CND Shellac will need fortnightly maintenance as there will be obvious re-growth. At this point you can either have your nails re-Shellac?ed (removing existing Shellac and re-applying a fresh new colour) or the CND Shellac can be removed completely which takes a brief 10 minutes. If you do decide you want to remove your CND Shellac please call Lisa and let her do it safely for you. Incorrect removal at home may damage the surface of your nails. Lisa will be able to remove CND Shellac using a professional remover and to give you a mini-manicure so that your natural nails look perfectly groomed.

Vinylux Removal
Vinylux can be removed using nail polish remover, however it does get tougher with time so may require a bit of extra work to be removed if kept on after 7 days.

Minx Toes

Minx Advice
If wearing Minx on your fingers try not to keep checking the ends of your nails by feeling them with your thumbs and pushing back at the edge doing this will cause your Minx nail wraps to peel. If you have heated up the Minx nail wraps and loosened an edge by washing up in very hot water or by having a long warm bath, be sure to press the edge down firmly and allow to cool completely, by doing this will usually repair any damage you might have done.

If wearing Minx on your toes you will damage or wrinkle your Minx if you wear shoes that are too tight and which rub on the surface. Lisa Jane Nail Services does not recommend wearing Minx nail wraps on your toes for months at a time without a break. The surface of your toenails can look quite dry and patchy when removed, with prolonged wear. Surface dryness can be moisturised quite easily in between Minx appointments and there will be no damage to your nails.

If you do decide you want to remove your own Minx then the method is to warm the Minx first with a hairdryer and gently lift the Minx at the side wall of the fingernails or toenails and peel off the surface, from side to side and not from the base of the nails to the free edge. Alternatively, Lisa can remove the Minx for you and perform a mini manicure leaving your nails looking nice and healthy.
